About
APA City Planning and Management About Our Division
The mission of the Division is to support public sector planners and managers in their roles to build inclusive and sustainable cities and communities.
We are a dedicated network of over 2,500 city-oriented planners and managers committed to fostering strong and vibrant communities. We believe that not only can we improve our cities, but we also have a profound responsibility to do so.
Our mission is to acquire the best tools and learn the most effective techniques. We strive to share experiences, ideas, and best practices to design and implement plans that ensure a brighter future for our residents, businesses, and property owners.
We understand the significance of our work. We prioritize practical solutions over theoretical concepts as we tackle major issues such as equity, climate change, displacement, aging infrastructure, food and housing instability, healthcare access, and the evolving business environment. All of this we undertake with the challenge of ever-shrinking budgets.
Our roles are complex, demanding finesse, determination, and quick thinking. This division serves as a support and resource center for all. It is a place to learn, teach, and give back to a profession that nourishes not just our bodies, but our souls.
